Eight left dangling after Winter Wonderland ride malfunctions
Eight people were left dangling on a ride at Cardiff's Winter Wonderland for 40 minutes yesterday after a mechanical malfunction caused it to break down.
Passengers were stuck 20 metres off the ground after the ride, known as the Sky Swing, stopped halfway to the top.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 17:45 to help people down, but ride operators managed to release the passengers before the fire service reached them.
Luke Jones' 12-year-old daughter was one of the passengers stuck on the Sky Swing.
Ride operators Sayer's Amusements say they are investigating the fault and refunds have been given to the people on the ride.
Yesterday's incident comes just weeks after high winds caused two empty carriages on the same ride to collide with others while people were on board.
