'We want to lay our son to rest' - parents of missing man speak of their anguish two years on
All Kyle Vaughan's parents want for Christmas is to bury their son.
It's been almost two years since 24-year-old Kyle was last seen at home in Newbridge on 30th December 2012. In that time his parents Alan and Mary told ITV News they've been on an emotional rollercoaster not knowing what happened to their only son.
Kyle's silver Peugeot 306 was found abandoned on the A467 between Risca and Cross Keys late on the night he disappeared. Police believe it was involved in a collision. Gwent Police launched a murder investigation within a week of Kyle's disappearance, making eight arrests. Two men remain on bail.
Kyle's parents have both suffered ill health since he went missing. His mum Mary has been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and says the only thing that keeps her going is the hope Kyle will be found.
Alan and Mary say people know what happened to their son on that night, but won't say anything. They say they are serving a 'life sentence' waiting for news.
Every fortnight they lay flowers at a site on the A472 near Crumlin where there's a poster of Kyle. Alan says its the only place they can go to remember him as they haven't been able to lay his body to rest.
Anyone with information about Kyle's disappearance can contact Gwent Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
