A £500 million investment has been secured by Cardiff Council for a new riverside development in the capital, which would link the City Centre with Cardiff Bay.

Plans for the Cardiff Embankment Regeneration Programme, in the Dumballs Road area, include more than 2,000 homes, a primary school, shops, bars and restaurants.

Developers Bellerophon (BPL), claim the regeneration project will bring 3,000 construction jobs and 500 long term jobs.

Work is expected to begin on-site as early as spring 2015.
