The way adoption works in Wales changes from today with a new National Adoption Service.
It will increase the pool of adopters and ensure good quality post-adoption support is available to those who need it.
It's hoped the new structure to adoption will lead to a more efficient use of resources and stop children drifting through the care system.
There are 139 children waiting to be adopted in Wales and while while there are 58 adopters on the Wales Adoption Register, only 22 are potentially available because some adopters already have children under consideration.
There are no adopters referred to the Register who are willing to take a sibling group of over two children.
