First Minister's Questions today might well be labelled the Health Edition. Why so ? Because the FM had to parry questions ranging from the threat of Ebola and how it would be dealt with from the Leader of the Welsh Conservatives Andrew RT Davies.Still on the Health theme Kirsty Williams , the Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats this week had queries about waiting times for youngsters with mental health illness. Interestingly, by the way, Kirsty earlier confided in us at her party's press briefing, that Health Minister Mark Drakeford had put a date in his diary to discuss the Lib Dem idea of a cross party commission on the NHS next week.Interesting because why cooperate with a Commission when a Keogh style inquiry into the NHS as suggested by the Tories has been regularly shot down in flames.?

But back to Ebola and RT wanted to know about what preparations have been made to deal with any possible cases in Wales, unlikely though that might be.The FM said that the risk was very low but plans were in hand.RT then turned his attention to the risk of the virus entering Wales via Cardiff Wales Airport. After all, he puffed, adjusting his stetson, who would have imagined a case being diagnosed in Dallas, Texas.

And Leanne Wood wanted to question the FM about the threat to services for children as outlined yesterday in the hard hitting report from the Children's Commissioner. Carwyn Jones said it was for each Local Authority to make sure services were properly funded.
