Planning a journey in NATO summit week?
This week the NATO summit will be held in Newport.
The leaders of the 28 NATO member countries, their senior ministers and officials will descend on the Celtic Manor Resort, along with thousands of journalists and security forces.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the NATO summit will be one of the largest security operations ever undertaken in the UK with extra police officers and staff from all over the country arriving in the area to help police the event.
So how should you prepare if you're planning a journey in the area this week?
Consider taking public transport where possible, rather than driving around Newport and Cardiff
Check any road closures before you travel (see websites below)
Rush hour traffic on Thursday and Friday is likely to be most affected - so consider what time you finish work
Talk to colleagues about sharing lifts to and from work where possible
Look for alternative routes if you're travelling around Newport and Cardiff, and if there are none available make sure you allow extra time for your journey
