2014 NATO summit: How might you be affected?

The 2014 NATO summit is being held at Newport's Celtic Manor resort.

The 2014 NATO summit takes place in Newport on September 4 and 5.

More than 60 world leaders and several thousand delegates will travel to the Celtic Manor Resort for the main summit, with other formal and informal events taking place across South Wales.

Local authorities say disruption will be kept to a minimum, but have urged people to plan ahead.

Here is some information you might find useful in the run-up to, and during, the summit.

  • From 10pm on August 31 until 7am on September 6 there will be a number of road closures around the Celtic Manor Resort.

  • All footpaths that cross the Celtic Manor Resort will be closed for the event.

Full details can be found in the Gwent Police Advance Notice of Road and Footpath Closures leaflet.

  • Major infrastructure works will take place in Cardiff during August and September, which will include fences being put up along North Road, Castle Street and in Bute Park beneath the Corbett Road Bridge. This will impact on traffic around Cardiff city centre.
