Smoking in cars carrying children could soon be banned
Smoking in cars with children will be banned under a new law being proposed by the Welsh Government. They say the risks of passive smoking in enclosed spaces is too great. But that's despite research which shows the number of children being exposed to smoke in this way has actually gone down.
According to figures from the Welsh Government:
The number of people banning smoking in their cars has increased from 71% to 76% over the last 3 years.
Awareness of the dangers of smoking has increased, with 88% agreeing it can cause serious health problems.
84% of people questioned say that smoking should be banned in cars.
