Restoring rail links to Corwen... nearly 50 years after the line closed

By the end of the year, it should be a reality - and Corwen will get back the railway it lost in the days of Dr Beeching's cuts.

One town in north Wales is waiting for the railway revolution - and tens of thousands of new visitors - to arrive.

Corwen in the Dee Valley is a few months away from becoming the last stop on the Llangollen Railway.

Rob Shelley reports.

Virtually all of the track is down, and the last couple of miles runs close to the river Dee. Much of the work to rebuild the line has been undertaken by volunteers.
