Bonfire Night: Find your local firework display

There will be dozens of big and small celebrations around Wales this evening, marking Bonfire Night.

As is now traditional, effigies of Guy Fawkes - who tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament back in 1605 - will be burned on bonfires, and elaborate firework displays will light up the night sky.

These are some of the bigger events being held around Wales this evening:

SWANSEA

  • Where: St Helen's Ground, SA2 0AR

  • When: Gates open at 5.30pm, entertainment from 6pm, fireworks from 7.30pm

  • What's on: Fireworks, stilt entertainers, live music from Lucy Spraggan, Nu Sxool and Pre Sxool

  • Tickets: £4.50 for adults, £3.50 for concessions, Under-3s free

BARRY

  • Where: Barry Island, CF63 4RT

  • When: Firework display starts at 7.45pm

  • What's on: 'Fireworks Fiesta'

  • Tickets: Free entry, donations encouraged

PENARTH

  • Where: Athletic Field, Lavernock Road, CF64 3AU

  • When: Admission at 6pm, fireworks start at 7pm

  • What's on: 'Guy competition' before main fireworks display

  • Tickets: £4 for adults and £2 for children and young people under 14

COWBRIDGE

  • Where: Cowbridge Rugby Club, CF71 7DB

  • When: Between 7pm and 9pm

  • What's on: Bonfire and firework display

PONTYPOOL

  • Where: Pontypool Park, NP4 8AT

  • When: Gates open at 6pm, entertainment starts at 6.30pm, fireworks from 7pm

  • What's on: A separate firework display for young children before the main display

  • Tickets: £5 for adults, £3 for children, £15 for a family

CHEPSTOW

  • Where: Chepstow School Sportsfield and Leisure Centre, NP16 5LX

  • When: Gates open at 6pm, fireworks start at 7pm

  • What's on: 'Fireworks Spectacular', a fun fair and food stalls

  • Tickets: £5 for adults, £3 for children, £15 for a family ticket

ABERGAVENNY

  • Where: Belgrave Park, NP7 7AT

  • When: Gates open at 6pm

  • What's on: Firework display synchronised to music

  • Tickets: £5 for adults, £3 for concessions

MILFORD HAVEN

  • Where: Milford Haven Rugby Club, Observatory Fields, SA73 3ES

  • When: Gates open at 6.30pm, fireworks at 8pm

  • What's on: Firework display set to James Bond music, fairground and stalls

  • Tickets: Admission is free, donations encouraged

ABERYSTWYTH

  • Where: Football Ground, Park Avenue, SY23 1PG

  • When: Gates open at 6.30pm, fireworks start at 8pm

  • What's on: Entertainment before the fireworks

  • Tickets: £4 for adults, £3 for children

LLANIDLOES

  • Where: Kennel Fields

  • When: The fire is being lit at 6.30pm, with fireworks from 7pm

  • What's on: Bonfire and firework display

  • Tickets: Free admission

LAMPETER

  • Where: Gwili Tractors, behind Lampeter Rugby Club, North Road, SA48 7JA

  • When: Between 7pm and 9pm

  • What's on: Bonfire and firework display

  • Tickets: £3 for adults, £2.50 for concessions, £2 for children

BRECON BEACONS

  • Where: Talybont-on-Usk Village Hall, LD3 7AD

  • When: Gates open at 5.45pm, the bonfire is being lit at 6pm, with fireworks at 6.30pm

  • What's on: Bonfire and firework display

  • Tickets: £3 for adults, £2 for children, £10 for a family ticket

HAY-ON-WYE

  • Where: Baskerville Hall, Clyro, HR3 5LE

  • When: Gates open at 6pm, the bonfire will be lit at 6.45pm, with fireworks at 7pm

  • What's on: Bonfire and firework display

  • Tickets: £4 for adults, £1 for concessions

DENBIGH

  • Where: Denbigh Castle Walls, LL16 3NB

  • When: Fireworks at 7pm

  • What's on: Fireworks being released from the castle walls

  • Tickets: Free admission
