Sharp End 25th April

The announcement by the Health Minister Mark Drakeford of steps to deal with severe delays at A and E departments has been welcomed by opposition parties but that welcome has been tempered by criticism of the Welsh Government for allowing the situation to develop in the first place.

It's inextricably linked with the problems facing the ambulance service which also became abundantly clear this week, but who is to blame and how can the problems be solved? Welsh Lib Dem leader Kirsty Williams has some ideas and she's the subject of this week's Sharp End interview.

Owain Phillips has been on Anglesey where candidates in the council election are counting down the last few days before voters go to the polling stations. There have been a lot of changes in the way the council is chosen but I wonder if there should be bigger changes in the way our local councils are organised? Are there simply too many of them?

My studio guests this week are the Liberal Democrat AM, Eluned Parrott, Labour AM Vaughan Gething and former Plaid Cymru AM, Dai Lloyd.
