Bright but rather chilly few days ahead
Sunday saw a weak and feeble rain band making it's way down across the country, it heralds a return to brighter but colder weather for the next few days.
Tonight much of the cloud clears and the wind drops out, this will allow the temperatures to drop to -2 or -3C by dawn. A widespread frost and maybe the odd icy patch, there's a small risk of a shower in the far west.
Monday kicks off a bright but mainly cold week. Plenty of sunshine on offer today, just feeling rather chilly with highs of just 4-6C.
High pressure will persist for the next few days which will keep the weather settled and generally sunny. It will, however, be cold over the next few days with temperatures struggling in low single figures by day with penetrating frosts by night. Through the middle of the week we can expect more freezing fog patches to develop overnight.
