Four children at the centre of a nationwide hunt have been found safe and well in Blackwood, Gwent.

It is believed the children aged between eight and 14 were with their mother, Jennifer Jones and her partner.

Police have now confirmed that a 45 year-old woman has been arrested in Gwent in connection with the search for the four children from Llanelli.

A man who was also arrested is currently being questioned by police to establish his involvement in the matter.

The four children were found by police around 11am this morning.

A high court judge had ordered a nationwide hunt on Tuesday afternoon after the children failed to return to their father in Spain.

It's believed the four children are embroiled in a custody battle between their mother and estranged Spanish father.

Dyfed Powys Police issued the following statement earlier today.
