£40 million Coleg Morgannwg campus opens at Nantgarw
The man behind the world's biggest scientific experiment - who's been dubbed 'Evans the Atom' - will today officially open a new Welsh college.
Coleg Morgannwg's Nantgarw Campus in Glamorgan cost £40million and offers Rhondda Cynon Taff students 24 A level subjects - making the college the largest provider of AS learning.
Cutting the ribbon will be Dr Lyn Evans - a miner's son from Aberdare and now a world leading physicist who was instrumental in the Large Hadron Collider Project - which recently claimed to discover the "god particle".
The college says students "will be able to tailor their own study programme to match their career or University ambitions". Alongside academic courses, it will offer a programme of full-time vocational courses.
