This weekend marks the first anniversary of the Gleision Colliery disaster that claimed the lives of four miners.

David Powell, Garry Jenkins, Charles Breslin and Phillip Hill died when the mine they were working in flooded.

In the second of a series of reports looking back at the events of last September, we hear from Wayne Thomas from the National Union of Mineworkers.

He was with the families while they waited for news - and was present when they heard their loved ones would not be coming home.
