The Olympics are over - but the celebrations continue

The Olympic celebrations continue today as plans get underway for a welcome home party for Jade Jones in her hometown of Flintshire.

The 19-year-old won gold in the Taekwondo on Thursday, becoming the youngest member of Team GB to take first prize.

The Olympics ended on a high for Wales yesterday as Cardiff's Fred Evans won silver in the welterweight boxing final. In total Welsh athletes had their biggest games medal haul ever, taking three gold, three silver and a bronze in London.

The Welsh Government have said they will hold a special welcome home party for Welsh Olympians and Paralympians on 14th September.

The athletes have also been praised by Sport Wales, who say they now hope to build on the success of the Games.
