Wales' medal hopes on day eight
Men's 4 rower Tom James will carry Wales' hopes for more gold on day eight of the London Olympics this morning.
Meanwhile triathlete Helen Jenkins has come fifth place in her event - thirty seconds behind the winner, Nicola Spirig of Switzerland.
After a brilliant season Bridgend's Jenkins was a favourite for gold in the women's race. She's currently ranked as the world's number one female after finishing first at the ITU World Triathlon Series in San Diego earlier this year.
And at Eton Dorney, Wrexham's Tom James will look to defend the title he won in Beijing four years ago when he lines up against Australia, Germany, USA, Greece and the Netherlands.
A first place finish for James and his team would extend Great Britain's Olympic domination of the Men's Four to 16 years. Great Britain won gold in the event at the Sydney, Athens, and Beijing Olympics.
Dai Greene, another of Wales' gold medal hopefuls, will compete in the semifinals of the men's 400m hurdles tonight.
The current world number 2 easily qualified for the semi's with a time of 48.98 seconds.
Fellow Welsh hurdler Rhys Williams also qualified for the semi-finals.
