Swansea video artist named Welsh Artist of the Year

A video artist from Swansea has been named Welsh Artist of the Year 2012.

Gemma Copp impressed the judges with her video performance of a boat being pushed to the shore on a Swansea beach.

The 13-minute video 'Rising Tides' shows Gemma, dressed in a white T-shirt and tight white shorts’ sitting in a small rowing boat waiting for the tide to take her away.

Gemma, who is 30 years old and lives in Fforest Fach, previously won the video prize at the Welsh Artist of the Year Awards in 2010.
