Communities across West Wales are raising money to help people who have lost possessions and home in the recent flooding.

This weekend, residents and students from Aberystwyth University are holding a mass jumble sale to help raise money for the affected families.

The villagers of Llandre, Dol-y-bont and Dole held a get-together on Thursday evening to begin fundraising.

"Some people have suffered very very badly. It's been a very stressful time for families" said Wynne Melville Jones, one of the organisers.

"We want to do what we can to help".

The money raised at the event will be contributed to the Ceredigion Flood Appeal, which is administered by Ceredigion County Council.
