The eighty-eighth Combined Cavalry Memorial Service and Parade is taking place today in London.

The poignant day comes as a Welsh MP has hit out at proposals being considered by the Government which could see one of Wales' oldest army regiments being axed.

Madeleine Moon told Wales Tonight it would be a "disaster" and a "travesty' if the 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards was lost.

The plans are being considered as part of the Westminster Government's defence cuts.
