A 31-year-old man is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates Court this morning charged with the murder of Cardiff pensioner Peter Lewis.

Mr Lewis, 68, was found with a stab wound in the communal hallway at his Roath flat in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was taken to hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

The popular pensioner had learning difficulties and was described as vulnerable.

31-year-old William Stephen Jones was arrested last night. Police say he is local to the area.
