A wet April, but unlikely to be a record breaker

It seems like April's usual showers have given way to a bit of a deluge this month. But as we head towards the end of this rather wet month it appears the preliminary figures show a slightly different picture.

As of the 25th April (83% of the way through the month), Wales has seen 130% of it's average rainfall, which does make it a wet one. Plus with 111.4mm it's also made Wales the wettest part of the country so far.

However April 2012 only ranks as the 9th wettest April on record. But that is a UK-wide figure and with up to 50mm of rain expected on Sunday with plenty of showers on top you can expect this April to head up the league table.
