Mason Ryan, whose real name is Barri Griffiths, came to Cardiff with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

It’s the first time he has been back to Wales since working for the worldwide company, which has a global audience of 500 million.

The 6ft 5 welsh-speaker, who went to Cardiff Metropolitan University, was looking forward to performing in front of his home fans.

And despite only being in the Welsh capital for a day, the 289 lbs superstar made time to see his mum, as well as friends.

Mason used to work for his dad in north Wales as a carpenter and a part-time undertaker, as well as playing football for Porthmadog.

It wasn’t until an injury that he decided to start lifting weights which ultimately lead to his wrestling career.

Welsh European Lightweight Champion, Gavin Rees, tweeted about the event in Cardiff last night.
