Swansea born Dr Rowan Williams, the Archbishop of Canterbury, has announced he will stand down in December, after ten years in the post.

Dr Williams says stepping down had not been an easy decision and that is had been an "immense privilege" to serve as the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Archbishop of Wales, Dr Barry Morgan, today paid tribute to his work.
