A memorial to the private detective Daniel Morgan has been placed in a Powys church to mark the 25th anniversary of his death. Mr Morgan was murdered in a south London pub car park in 1987. No-one has ever been convicted.

Mr Morgan who was 37 originally from Llanfrechfa, near Cwmbran, was found with an axe in his head in the pub car park at The Golden Lion.

His grave is in London, but his mother wanted a memorial closer to her home in Hay-on-Wye.

Five investigations into Daniel's death have come to nothing and last month his family called again for a judge led inquiry into the case.
