Inside the Co Antrim salt mine keeping UK traffic moving
A cavernous salt mine near Carrickfergus in Co Antrim is ready to keep traffic moving on roads right across the UK if wintry weather bites.
The mine, which is the only one of its kind on the island of Ireland, boasts 60 kilometres of road and enough salt to last a lifetime.
Its depths are rarely seen, but UTV sent reporter Richard Cull to check out life underground.
