NI leaders highlight Brexit issues in letter to PM

The First and deputy First Minister have written to the Prime Minister about the impact Brexit will have on Northern Ireland.

Their letter, which can be viewed on the Executive Office website, focuses on a range of economic and business issues as well as the border between NI and the Republic.

Arlene Foster and Martin McGuinness said they look forward to future meetings with Theresa May and are committed to achieving “the best possible outcome for all our people”.

A statement from the ministers adds: “The Prime Minister has said we will be fully involved and represented in the negotiations on the terms of our future relationships with the EU and other countries.

“The letter to the Prime Minister sets out our initial assessment and thoughts and we look forward to further engagement on these matters which are of particular significance.”
