Schools evacuated after second round of 'malicious calls'
A number of schools have been evacuated for the second time in four days in Northern Ireland after what police have described as "malicious communications".
Peter Weir, DUP MLA for North Down, says the alerts will have been a frightening experience for children.
“The police suspicions are that this is a series of phone calls across not just Northern Ireland, but the whole of the UK,” he said.
“I thinkit’s a fairly sick mind when you’re talking about disturbing and frightening children who are having to be evacuated from their school at short notice.
“That’s something that can be quite traumatising for children.
“I would certainly call on anyone who has any information on these incidents to immediatewly come forward to the police.”
