Family of Belfast man missing in Spain but feared murdered speak of their 'hell'

Spanish police have launched a murder investigation as they try to find a Belfast man who has been missing in the country since before Christmas.

Speaking to UTV, the family of John George described their current situation as a living "hell".

The father of two was supposed to fly back to Northern Ireland on 18 December but he never made the flight, and no one has been in contact with him since 14 December.

Most of his immediate family are now in Spain doing what they can to help out in the search for him around Cabo Roig on the Costa Blanca.

More friends and family are expected to join them in the coming days.

However, his father Billy said he won't return to Northern Ireland until he finds out what happened.

"I am not leaving here until I get my son, whether it's this week, next week, next month. I am staying here. I'm going nowhere", he said.

UTV contacted the police for a statement but did not receive a response.
