Counting has completed in the General Election for Northern Ireland after a dramatic night. The DUP suffered a bruising set of election results in Northern Ireland with the party suffering a seismic shock when Ian Paisley lost his seat in North Antrim. The party also lost Lagan Valley and South Antrim and was run very close in East Londonderry.

It was a mix bag for Alliance who celebrated making history as the first non unionist party to take Lagan Valley - the seat formerly held by ex-party leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson.

Sinn Fein, meanwhile, retained their seats and are the biggest party. The party have now come out on top in the council, Assembly and Westminster elections.

Nationally, Sir Keir Starmer will enter Downing Street with a landslide victory.
