Carl Frampton says writing new book was 'cathartic process after some difficult years'

Former double World Boxing Champion, Carl Frampton, has spoken to UTV about his new autobiography.

He said writing the book was a "cathartic process" after some difficult years.

Frampton, from north Belfast was welcomed by around 550 people as he launched his autobiography at the Europa Hotel in the city centre.

He said it was surprising, adding, "I genuinely didn't think that there was going to be the turnout that there was, when I fought in Belfast I used to stay in the Europa and we had weigh-ins and press conferences there so I think it was the right place to do it.

"It did bring back some memories and some old stories."

Reflecting on his career The Jackal said he achieved more than he ever expected he would and is "at peace with what he done as a fighter."
