Part of the M2 motorway approaching Belfast has reopened following a vehicle fire.

Traffic Watch NI said a lorry transporting gas cylinders caught fire on the southbound carriageway on Monday.

The road was closed between Sandyknowes roundabout and the foreshore due to the incident near the Bellevue Bridge.

A 20mph speed limit was introduced on the northbound carriageway while emergency services dealt with the blaze.

The motorway has since reopened and speed restrictions in the area have been lifted, with traffic easing from 3.45pm.
