Man charged with Martin Gavin murder in Belfast

A 20-year-old man has been charged with the murder of Martin Gavin in Belfast.

He will appear in court on Wednesday. As is normal procedure all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

An 18-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman who were also arrested on Monday have been released.

Mr Gavin, 47, was stabbed in a home in Harcourt Drive in the north of the city on Friday, January 7. He passed away four weeks later.
