Glentoran have beaten Cliftonville on penalties to reach the final of the Irish Cup, where they’ll take on Ballymena.

An own goal from Patrick McClean gave the Reds the lead in Monday night’s fixture at Windsor Park, but Robbie McDaid made it all square before the break.

The sides were locked at one-all and the game went into extra time before a tense penalty shootout saw Glentoran emerge the winners.

They will now face Ballymena in Friday’s final, after they also secured their place with a win on penalties over rivals Coleraine.
