Human remains found in car in Lough Erne identified

Human remains found in a car recovered from Lough Erne earlier this month have been confirmed as being those of missing Monaghan man Michael ‘Tony’ Lynch.

Mr Lynch, a 54-year-old father-of-four, went missing from his home in Clones 18 years ago.

His Mitsubishi was found by police divers in Lough Erne, in the Corradillar area of Co Fermanagh, and recovered for examination on 18 May.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “The family of Mr Lynch have been informed of this development and request for privacy at this difficult time.”
