Man dies in car crash in Co Antrim

A man has died in a car crash in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.

The collision on the Upper Hightown Road was reported to police during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The car had run off the road and was found in a field.

Inspector Paul McCarron said: "The collision was reported to us at 2:20am this morning involving a grey Ford Focus that was located in a field in the Upper Hightown Road area.

"Sadly, the man was pronounced dead at the scene."

Police are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact them.

The Upper Hightown Road has since reopened.
