Coronavirus: Co Tyrone dad completes marathon with a wheelbarrow to raise funds for NHS

"I did a mile the other day just to make sure it was going to work but then I just decided I was going to do it."

Keith Clarke from Dungannon, is quite possibly the only person in Northern Ireland to complete a marathon with a wheelbarrow in a driveway while self-isolating during coronavirus.

The father-of-three completed the amazing feat on Monday morning to raise vital funds for staff who work in intensive care unit's (ICUs) in the NHS.

"I know a lot of people are not allowed out," Keith said.

"So I just decided to show people that they could get out in the garden or driveway to get active. There's nothing stopping them doing a few miles up and down the driveway."

The experienced marathon runner finished the challenge in an impressive five hours and 20 minutes lapping his driveway 416 times.

Keith said: "The first 10 miles wasn't too bad. In and around the wall as they say.

"Around 17 to 18 miles I started to get sore but I was reading all the messages on Facebook and dug in deep and got it finished."

The 42 year old had raised over £2.5k for the NHS.
