Church paint bombed in sectarian attack in Larne

A Catholic church has been paint bombed overnight in what police are treating as a sectarian hate crime in Larne.

The vandalism was discovered at the church in the Agnew Street area at about 11am on Sunday.

PSNI Sergeant Alan Lowry said: “Enquiries are continuing and, at this stage, the incident is being treated as a sectarian hate crime.

“We would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police in Larne on 101.”

Alliance MLA Stewart Dickson branded the attack “disgusting” and also said anyone with information should speak to police.
