'Racially motivated hate crime' as paint bombs thrown at house in Newtownabbey

Police are treating a paint bomb attack on a Newtownabbey home as a racially motivated hate crime.

The property in the Fernagh Avenue area was attacked in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Police reported that around 12:25am a number of paint bombs were thrown at the house, with one smashing the front window of the property.

Two men and two women, all in their twenties, as well as a young girl were inside the property at the time. No one was injured.

Inspector Patton said, "“Enquiries are continuing and at this stage the incident is being treated as a racially motivated hate crime".
