Irish League wins for Coleraine and Cliftonville
Coleraine and Cliftonville have secured big wins in Saturday’s Irish League action.
Coleraine beat Glenavon 4-0, with a hat-trick from James McLaughlin and a penalty from Ben Doherty sealing the victory.
It leaves the Stripes top of the table on 35 points.
The Reds were also 4-0 winners as they hammered Warrenpoint at Solitude, including a goal of the season contender from Conor McDermott who scored from his own half.
Mark McKee scored on his debut, Joe Gormley notched up his 18th goal of the season and Ryan Curran added a second-half penalty to round off the win.
Elsewhere, Carrick Rangers beat Ballymena United 2-1 at The Showgrounds.
The visitors got off to the perfect start with Daniel Kelly’s opener before Aaron Burns equalised with a header.
Lee Chapman tapped in a second for Carrick and it proved the winning goal as they completed their third win in four matches to leave them eighth in the table.
Meanwhile Institute and Glentoran drew 1-1, with Elvio Van Overbeek’s strike matched by Niall Grace’s effort for the hosts.
