McCourt and Gallagher takes wins at Bellator in Dublin
Saintfield’s Leah McCourt and Strabane’s James Gallagher both took quick wins in their big fights at Bellator Dublin on Friday night.
For Gallagher, it took just 35 seconds to finish his opponent Roman Salazar with a guillotine submission in the centre of the cage.
Teammate Conor McGregor was there to watch the action and enjoy the celebrations.
Meanwhile, McCourt took her opponent Kerry Hughes down with a hip toss before getting the submission with more than two minutes left of the opening round.
The ambitious fighter was making her fourth professional appearance and told UTV ahead of the fight: “I was an amateur world champion and it'll be my destiny to be a professional world champion.”
