Man, 27, arrested after Belfast fire destroyed three shops

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after three shops were destroyed in a blaze in North Belfast.

The fire broke out at a takeaway in the early hours of Thursday morning on the Woodvale road.

Dozens of firefighters spent hours tackling the blaze eventually bringing it under control.

Around 40 firefighters, along with five appliances and specialised equipment, including an aerial appliance were used in the operation.

A number of roads have been closed due to the incident and diversions are in place.
