Statue of George Best unveiled at Windsor Park

A life-size bronze statue of George Best has been unveiled at Windsor Park.

Designed by local artist Tony Currie, the statue was formally presented by George's sister Barbara on what would have been his 73rd birthday.

The statue captures George's movement as he dribbles the ball.

The former Northern Ireland legend died in 2005, after a long battle with illness linked to alcoholism

Norman and Barbara McNarry said: “This amazing tribute to George is very special and one which live on for many generations.”
