Man released over Warrenpoint murder

A 44-year-old man arrested on suspicion of Wayne Boylan's murder in Warrenpoint has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The father of two died instantly after two gunmen burst into a house and shot him in the head with a shotgun.

The 37-year-old had been at his friend’s house when the men entered the property on the Lower Dromore Road at around 7.30pm on Friday 18 January.

A 21-year-old woman also sustained gunshot injuries in the attack and was treated in hospital.
