Five men arrested in connection with Co Down burglary

Five men have been arrested by investigating an aggravated burglary in a Co Down village.

The arrests were made after police conducted a number of searches in the Killyleagh, Belfast, Newtownards and Dromore areas on Tuesday 15 January.

The men - aged 57, 42, 33, 25 and 21 - have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary, possession of a firearm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon with intent, criminal damage and intimidation

It is in relation to a burglary at a house in the Castleview area of Killyleagh in January 2017.

All five remain in police custody remain in custody, as of Tuesday evening.

A 26-year-old man has also been arrested after police seized a quantity of suspected class A and class B controlled drugs during the search of a property in Comber.

He has been arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs offences and also remains in police custody, as of Tuesday evening.
