Pedestrian dies following crash in west Belfast

A 48-year-old man has died after he was hit by a car in west Belfast.

The victim was involved in a collision with a red Toyota Aygo on the Andersontown Road shortly after 4:40pm on Monday afternoon.

It happened near the Slievegallion Drive junction.

A 19-year-old woman arrested at the scene has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

The road has since reopened.

Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling on the Andersonstown Road around the time of the collision and who witnessed anything or anyone who may have dash-cam footage of the collision to contact local officers in west Belfast or the Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number 910 10/12/18.
