Cliftonville striker pleads guilty to distributing indecent image of child
An Irish Premiership football player has been convicted of distributing an indecent image of a child.
Cliftonville striker Jay Donnelly pleaded guilty to the charge last week.
A separate count of taking or making an indecent photograph was withdrawn.
The 23-year-old, of Ardilea Drive in the Ardoyne area of Belfast, is due to be sentenced at the city's Magistrates Court in January.
The case against him related to an unknown date between June and October 2016.
Donnelly has been playing for Cliftonville since the allegations emerged.
On Wednesday the Courts Service confirmed that he was convicted of only one charge - distributing or showing an indecent image of a child.
The footballer entered the guilty plea last Friday.
