Search for Disappeared victim McVeigh resumes
Searches are continuing for a second day at Braggan bog in Co Monaghan for the remains of Disappeared victim Columba McVeigh.
Teams began working at the remote site near Emyvale on Monday, in what will be the fifth search for the missing 19-year-old since 1999.
It is believed Columba, from Donaghmore in Co Tyrone, was abducted, killed and secretly buried by the IRA over 40 years ago.
His family have said they are cautiously positive about this latest search for his remains.
Investigators are focusing on an area roughly one acre in size and have said they are acting on “relatively fresh information” which was received after previous searches.
Columba McVeigh was last seen in November 1975.
He is one of three Disappeared victims who are still missing - former monk Joe Lynskey and soldier Robert Nairac’s bodies have also never been found.
