Convicted child killer unlawfully at large last seen at Lanyon Place station
Police have located the last whereabouts of convicted child killer, John Clifford, who boarded a train at Lanyon Place station on Sunday.
The 56-year-old prisoner was driving a distinctive mobility scooter, which alerted police to his movements at the station.
He was last seen boarding a train just after one o'clock wearing a dark-coloured beanie hat, glasses, a dark heavy coat and a backpack.
Clifford, who murdered his young niece, failed to return to Maghaberry Prison on Sunday evening.
He was on a day release to attend an appointment.
Clifford is described as being around 5ft 7ins tall and of medium build, with a fresh complexion, green eyes and fair hair.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts should contact the PSNI immediately on 101.
Clifford was jailed for life in 1989 for murder and a string of other offences, including indecent assault and cruelty to children.
He was released in 2005, but returned to prison two years later for breaching the terms of his probation.
