Man released on bail following arrest in connection with Bangor bus fire

Police have released a 36-year-old man who was being held for questioning in connection with a suspected arson attack on a bus in Bangor.

An Ulsterbus was badly damaged in the blaze at Bangor bus and rail station just after 5am on Sunday morning.

A second bus was partially damaged in the fire, the PSNI said.

The man who was arrested was released on bail pending further enquiries.

One bus sustained partial damage while another was completely destroyed, police said.

Detectives have appealed to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the rail and bus station in the early hours of Sunday morning to contact police at Newtownards.
